1st June 2020, GC is excited to announce an alliance with G-Form, a pioneer of comfortable athletic protective gear, to develop and distribute cutting-edge ‘Made in the USA’ new products that capture and kill Coronavirus.

Utilizing a breakthrough technology from GC, G-Form medical protective equipment and athletic gear/apparel will be pre-treated with a GC silver nanoparticle/graphene oxide ink application that captures and kills Coronavirus droplets that spread from an infected person. This is different to products that are currently available as it is the first product that will both capture and kill Coronavirus.

“Our team at GC has been aggressively developing this solution to provide healthcare workers and athletes the confidence to perform their tasks. Quickly developing and deploying our virus-killing ink would make a significant difference in slowing the rate of infection – thus saving many lives.” said Sandy Chen, CEO & Co-Founder, GC.

Two months ago, G-Form pivoted its Smithfield, RI. manufacturing plant to the production of PPE face shields and has already produced more than 1 million units. A brand that protects athletes from injury, G-Form understands the complexity and demands of team sports. As high schools, universities, and professional sports organizations actively plan to re-start their operations this summer, the measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus are paramount.

“Athletes around the world are anxiously awaiting to return to their sports but understand there will be necessary precautions in the new normal. Whether you are a professional sport league commissioner, a youth league administrator or a high school athletic director, protecting participants from further Coronavirus spread is their overriding concern. In working closely with Sandy and his team at Graphene Composites, we are optimistic about our ability to become an integral part of the safe return to team sports, in addition to providing improved PPE to healthcare professionals,” said Glen Giovanucci, CEO of G-Form.

No solution currently exists to effectively pre-treat athletic equipment, apparel or footwear prior to practices and games. This pre-treatment will not only absorb Coronavirus droplets, it will eliminate them. This also applies to gyms and fitness centers throughout the world. Developing this added layer of protection is the very essence of why and how these companies with Rhode Island roots are working together.

With pre-treatment of face shields and face masks, healthcare workers will now receive the highest level of protection available, making current PPE’s more effective which is a key priority to both companies. As economies throughout the world re-open, healthcare workers may be subject to further infection, and current PPE needs to improve. This alliance serves to be a part of that solution.

The products are in active testing at a leading Ivy League university and laboratories in both the UK & US, with patents pending. Once complete and successful, EPA approvals and production will immediately follow.
